Austin Animal Center holiday schedule

From the City of Austin Animal Services Office:

The Austin Animal Center located at 7201 Levander Loop will be open on Dec. 23 from 11 a.m. to  7 p.m. and on Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

The Center will be open on New Year’s eve, Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 5p.m. and will resume regulars hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2015.

“We would like the community to know that we are open during the holidays and the shelter has a great selection of pets ready to go home for the holidays,” said Deputy Chief Animal Services Officer Chris Noble.  “Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment and we want to be the first choice of anyone considering adding a pet to their family this holiday season.”

‘Home for the Holidays’ pet adoptions for all ready-to-go dogs and cats is $25.

All pets adopted will include spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations – a package valued at more than $200. The usual adoption fee is $75.

All cats and dogs over the age of 7 years have waived adoption fees.  ‘Home for the Holidays’ adoption fees continues through Jan. 4.
