FROM THE CITY OF AUSTIN

Road to Puppy Bowl-11x17 PosterThe Animal Planet network and the Austin Animal Center are joining once again to sponsor a local free pet adoption event as part of the national “Road to Puppy Bowl” tour.

The second annual Austin event will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, when Animal Planet will pay for all adoption fees for animals from the Animal Center, 7201 Levander Loop.

Those hoping to add a playful pup, a furry feline, a bouncing bunny or anything in between can come out for the fun-filled event that includes photos and giveaways as well as overly adorable animals.

Each February, Animal Planet hosts the “Puppy Bowl,” featuring the cutest and very adoptable players in a much-anticipated sporting event.  “Puppy Bowl” has led to hundreds of adoptions over the past 11 years and is a key leader in Animal Planet’s ongoing mission to highlight the importance of animal adoption and responsible pet ownership.

Now, the network is bringing the joy and goodwill of the big game to communities across the country on the “Road to Puppy Bowl.”

Those wishing to participate in this event can register to be eligible for the waived adoption fees.  Event registration at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/road-to-puppy-bowl-austin-tickets-15912721378.

Adoption fees covered by Animal Planet are on a first-come, first-served basis while select animals and funds remain.
