San Marcos shelter offering discount adoptions during Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Days

The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter invites the community to Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Days taking place now through Oct. 31 at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter’s Adoption Center, located at 750 River Road in San Marcos as part of the national Home 4 the Holidays campaign.

“With as many as 7 million homeless pets in the U.S., it is important everyone get involved to help save an orphaned animal this holiday season,” said Cole Evans, Animal Shelter Supervisor.  “We’re proud to be a part of this amazing campaign and are dedicated to placing orphaned pets in homes so they can experience a happy new life.”

During the Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Days, every adoptable dog’s adoption fee will be discounted to only $20. The adoption will include the sterilization, rabies vaccination, de-worming, general health check, microchipping, and testing for heartworms. In addition, the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter will have select animals’ adoption fees 50% off during the entire Home 4 the Holidays campaign through Jan. 2, 2015.

“The team here at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter is specially trained and can help families choose the perfect pet for their personalities and lifestyles,” Evans said. “We can’t think of anything better than seeing these beautiful cats and dogs find their loving, forever families this holiday season.”
